July in general

We celebrated our first official 4th July but Grace was asleep for the fireworks, still she had fun floating in our friends pool even if it was a little cloudy!

Grace is also becoming very helpful around the house.....

Grace's first experience of a beach, it was at Lake Anna about 35 miles south of us, it was just beautiful and Grace had no fear of the water, she loved it!

Grace's 1st Birthday

Where has the year gone??? I'll tell you, emigrating took up a huge part, I know little Gracie won't remember her first hectic year, all I know is that it has been the most emotional year of my life and also the best yet! Grace had a great birthday, we had family and new friends we've met and it made us realise that we have made it here.

Where do I start!

Well i've been a bit lapse in blogging! With Grace's 1st birthday and family in town we have been very busy. I will post all our fun from the last couple of weeks, so here goes....

New Addition

After making the decision for Oscar to stay with his nanny cats and papa stu where he is happy and has a lovely garden for exploring, we adopted a local abandoned kitten. We have named her BoBo and she makes an excellent playmate for Grace :-)

Almost Walking!

An exciting day, Grace has started to walk with her walker, OK some of it is on her knees but she gets the gist, I am very proud :-) One more week and she turns 1! I can't believe it, again I am very proud :-)

Also another reason to celebrate, I passed my Virginia driving licence, theory and practical, I was so nervous after driving 14 years and picking up bad habits and that tiny difference of the 'other side of the road' thing, but at least i'm leagal now!

And, I just wanted to thank my little T&A for a wonderful night last night, excellent food and even better company, i'm finally feeling at home..... Thank you.

HOT HOT HOT! We managed to stay in the shade yesterday at the park, there was a concert with live music and we met with friends, just chilling and eating which seems to be Grace's favourite past time!

And as Angelle says.... it was slim pickings! It was too hot so we picked about 12 strawberries and got out of there, back to ours for some time indoors, thank heaven for air con :-)
